ARRESTED IN LAGOS, DEPORTED TO ONITSHA (sun Newspaper 7/30/13)
It is inconceivable to lose two civil wars and still expect to exist.
It is time Igbo leaders of thought gather and present empirical data on the Igbo’s killed, maimed, displaced, targeted, Igbo pogrom, Igbo ethnic cleansing and internally deported in Nigeria to United Nation for case for Igbo autonomy and repeat for Igbo autonomy in Nigeria.
The Civil war was premised on quest for the survival of Igbo race. However the then Nigeria with the support of the whole world refused to allow Igbos a safe place in the ancestral home and forced Igbos back into their dreaded Nigeria death camps.
Since this forced admission, Igbo killing, maiming, cleansing, hate, envy and deportation have continued. Yet Nigeria would not let Igbo go. I personally would want and wish Igbos to remain Nigerians but I feel their pain, their plight and their disappointment. Igbo is only ethnic group that through their presences in every nook and cranny of this God forsaken country embodies and symbolizes what a true united, one indivisible people of a true nation ought to be. Yet today Igbos are hated, killed, envied, and deported for doing exactly what they were forced back into Nigeria to do. They are being hated, envied, maimed, ‘pogrommed’, and deported for displaying and behaving as true Nigeria nationals; for doing exactly the same things that Nigeria through the civil war forced them back into Nigeria, to do.
The enslavement, subjugation, ill treatment, marginalization of Igbo in the Nigeria is the worst case of servitude. In general slave masters hold their slaves in bondage for the satisfaction of the masters' needs being it labor and or sexual needs. But in Nigeria Igbos are held by Nigeria for no apparent Nigeria’s need or use. Nigeria behaves like it neither likes nor needs Igbos yet it would not let the Igbos go.
Igbo in Nigeria is being deliberately pinned to the wall and allowed only one escape route, the explosive route. God Knows that any second attempt by Igbos to explode their way to freedom, free of subjugation will yield one of two possible outcomes; freedom or extermination of the race. It is inconceivable to lose two civil wars and still expect to exist. A war to finish but God Almighty please save us from this doom, only if it is thy will.
Is my hope that Nigeria as whole understands that there is point to which human spirit would want to be free regardless of the means, the cost and the consequences.
